41 weeks and a day! That's 8 days overdue!

I am so ready to have this baby! Every night is a huge chore in trying to get some sleep. I'm uncomfortable and I feel like I'm going to burst. Baby is stretching me beyond imaginable. Everyday, baby likes to play a game to see how far his or her foot can stretch out of my belly. It's weird!

At my latest appointment on Thursday, I was told that my cervix hasn't effaced yet or dilated either. My midwife talked about the possibility of the pregnancy going 2 weeks overdue! WHAT? C'est pas possible! At least that's how I feel as a bulging momma. In the explanation of how my body is doing a lot of prep labor work right now which will ease the real labor, it makes me somewhat more relaxed. However, I'm really trying to convince baby that they should be born tonight, tomorrow or Monday? NO LONGER please!

(Here's mom and dad at 40 weeks and a day)

I'm drinking a special concoction that my midwife gave me that may help encourage effacement. We'll see.

Birthday Hike

I'd like to have this baby sooner rather than later, so I'm doing as much as I feel up to doing. For my birthday I thought that a short hike up Idaho Peak (2265 m) wouldn't be too much. And it wasn't. Although you would think that with the crazy drive up to the parking lot of the start of the hike, plus a 4 km hike would do something. Well, it was a great hike and I didn't go into labor.

The wildflowers were incredible! And the views! WOW! We also had a great meal with Kristin, Garrett, Emil, Betty, David, my mom and dad and Wes. It was a great birthday.

Last weekend, I went for a paddle on Arrow Lake with Betty and my mom. The weather this week has been incredible. Great for paddling and hiking.

My due date is tomorrow. Here's hoping for 08/08/08!
