Happy 3rd Birthday Rowan

My goodness! Three years! And when I close my eyes, I can remember everything about the first few moments you were born! You were so precious and delicate. And today you are still the same!

You are very thoughtful and think deeply about so much. You ask intelligent questions and listen carefully for the answers. You enjoy reading books, especially about animals.

You have had quite the growth spurt this summer and even you seem to notice just how tall you are getting. You like to point out to me almost daily just how long your legs are, or how you can reach new heights now. That's neat. You wore size 2 forever and are almost going straight into size 4! Sheesh!

You are three years old now and can do so much!! You ride your runner bike so fast now and are soon ready for peddles! It seems as if you have no fear and like to go fast. You also love to just run especially with your super fast shoes. You love going for hikes, bike rides, swimming (even in the frigid cold Arrow Lakes), lounging on the beach, playing on the playground and usually are game for anything.

At nighttime, you love to cuddle. We read stories together every night and then you always ask for a quick snuggle. Since I'm at home all the time right now, you wake me up with more snuggles and kisses.

My days with you are so much fun. I try to make each day special since soon I will go back to work.

My wish for you is endless happy days full of adventures, laughter, sunshine, friends, snuggles and good dreams. Happy Birthday sweetheart! Mama loves you!

6 months already?

This boy is growing up fast, and I mean it! I'm not exactly sure what he weighs but he's getting close to 20 lbs anyways. He weighs more than Rowan did at one year. And he's now getting strong enough to sit up (mostly with assistance) and roll over both ways. He also likes to show his strength at the hot springs with HUGE splashes - his arms are just a flailing. Quite funny. Fisher's new thing is his voice. He's found it and wants to see how high pitched and how loud it will go!

Caught him for a moment siting up. What a big boy he is!

Yes, he's almost always this happy!

Thinking about moving those legs now! Yikes!

Hanging out with Papa!

One of Fisher's first bike rides - we rode to Nakusp beach and back. He loved it!

Rowanisms

This post is for Rowan! These are a few Rowanisms that I want to write about before I totally forget that she said these things. Her third birthday is coming up soon. Seriously, how did Rowan grow up so fast?

"Oh - Teh?" (ok?) - She usually says this in a bit of attitude or certainty tone or like she is mimicking her mama or papa when we are asking her to behave.

Making footprints in the summer?

Rowan playing with Jax.

"All by myself" - or as Wes and I say 'ABM'. We hear this one LOTS! Rowan is miss independent and is very determined. When she wants to learn how to do something, she can do amazing things!

All by myself down the hill on my bike! - whoops! Rowan decided to go way too fast down the hill and forgot the slowing down part. She was totally healed within a week! Thankfully she was wearing her helmet and saved her head.

Rowan's newest ABM is swimming. And what a brave girl she is. The water this summer is FREEZING!

"I do it!!!" - Similar to ABM but with a tone like give me some space, don't even think about helping me and let me do it!

Sporting the new helmet and pads from Nana!

"I'm a big girl!" - This one seems to have taken off since Fisher was born, and we encourage it daily! It is so nice to have a big girl around the house to help with you name it.

Big girls ride on their mama's bike!

Big girls share! Especially with their baby cousins!

"For my birthday, I want a pan CAKE. too funny!" - I heard Rowan say this one day and thought it was so clever!

Big girl hiking up Alps Alturas!

"Rowan, what do you want for your Birthday?" "A poo-du-dor, a cam-mam-ma and a cell phone!" - Wow! This girl doesn't ask for much eh? Now, I can see why Rowan wants a computer since she's not allowed to touch mama's new computer. I hope she is happy with the vtech one that is coming in the mail for her. A camera? Well again, she just wants to be like her mama! And now a cell phone? I think she learnt that one from her cousins.

One thing Rowan loves to do in the summer is relax at the beach.

"That's my daddy, my Papa!!" - Rowan has figured out boy/girl/man/woman and likes to point out how smart she is, and how proud she is, by making statements like this. The other new thing is that she calls me "Mom or Mommy." I guess she's done with Mama for now.

Hiking with Papa!!

Papa helping Rowan build Devils Tower. (The real one is in Wyoming.)

I LOVE YOU SO MUCH ROWAN! Love Mama, MOM and Mommy! xoxo
